SREE NARASIMHA PARTHASARATHY TEMPLE THIRUVANGOOR

Thiruvangoor Sree Narasimha-Parthasarathy Temple is located in Chemancheri Grama Panchayat, 18 km north to the Kozhikode city, beside the National Highway 66 (Kanyakumari-Panvel).   The main deities of the temple, which are believed to be established by Lord Parasurama, are Sree Narasimha and Sree Parthasarathy. The “oorayma” (hereditary trusteeship) of the temple is vested with the Nambis of Thoduvayal family (tharavad) since time immemorial. A 21-member governing body elected from among the 150-odd general committee members is currently managing the day-to-day affairs of the temple.   Kappad, known for its historical significance as the landing point of Vasco da Gama, is located just 2.5 km away in the west of the temple.   The Kanjilassery Mahadeva Temple, known as Dakshina Kashi, and the Poilkave Vanadurga Temple are located within a 3 km radius of this temple.
